Topographical land surveys provide an accurate measured plan of a site and can contain a variety of different feature information. Our UAV-acquired imagery and sophisticated photogrammetric post-processing support a range of service sectors through the production of 3D datasets, topographic vector information or volumetric data.

Typical applications include:

  • Development site surveys (case study)
  • Quarry surveys
  • Pipeline and cable route surveys
  • Stockpile volumetric analysis
  • Windfarm access route surveys
  • Flood plain and drainage analysis
  • Flood risk assessment
  • Vegetation and forest surveys
  • Environmental monitoring
  • Site change monitoring
  • Infrastructure modelling
  • 2D and 3D vector mapping
  • 3D Visualisation
  • 3D Structural inspections

An example of a mapping job that could only be completed using a drone - this image shows a small section of a 17ha industrial site that we mapped for a client despite being unable to access the site directly - Boots On The Ground not allowed! Ground Control Points were located around the perimeter of the site and a TotalStation used to shoot structures visible from outside the site boundary to act as control points within the area of the site. We then flew the survey mission entirely from outside the site boundary.
